Hello, I'm Georgina. My favourite colour is red.
In case you hadn't guessed that already.
I'm a university graduate from Australia and am very fond of presenting my work in digital form. I've been designing websites as a hobby since 2001, and have recently completed freelance work. View my resume?
I design my own personal blog along with various other projects such as a photoblog & fan-oriented websites. I enjoy creating minimalist designs that focus on typography. I’m a keen learner and I’m always up for a challenge.
Below are some of my best designs and recent works. If you're interested in working with me, drop me a line!

I LoveI wanted to create a theme with a more classic look and feel, so I chose to keep to a monochromatic colour scheme to allow the little highlights of the header, title and footer decorations to stand out. I used a small range of serif and non-serif fonts and a textured background to add just the right amount of interest. Visit website? |
Juliette.nuThis was a request from a client who wanted a minimalist, fluid layout for their personal blog, with as few images as possible, some scriptlike fonts, and muted colours of brown/tan and pink/purple. Visit website? |
glassfieldsSince discovering the capabilities of CSS3, I hadn't had much of an opportunity to use it, or I had found that they weren't really suited to the styles I was after. I managed to pull together this layout with more updated CSS technology. Visit website? |
Geeking Out Across The GalaxyThis WordPress theme went through many stages until the client was completely satisfied with the design. A lot of time was spent on the graphic design of the theme and most colours came from the one graphic. I had previously worked with this client and they wanted something with a "bold" style. Indecisively, meThis theme was created for my photoblog/photojournal after being inspired by a very simple black-and-white WordPress theme I saw. I chose to use greys to bring more focus to my posts and photographs, but added just the right amount of interest with decorated dividers and a scriptlike font for the title. Visit website? |
A Lonely SeptemberThis fixed-width layout was created for my friend's blog. He chose a medium blue colour as the main colour but after working with colour palettes, I was able to convince him that the blue, orange and yellow combination was more eye-catching. Creating the requested three columns was a challenge but I managed to get it working wonderfully. Visit website? |
Mok 1.0This theme was made for a friend who wanted a very simple one-column layout with a blue/brown colour scheme, utilising a photograph of his dog. The layout is rather small in width, which reflects the small nature of the website itself. Visit website? |
A selection of screenshots
These layouts are a selection of my favourites, all of which were coded as WordPress themes. These are simply displayed as screenshots on the website they were on.
Love Is...This was a WordPress theme I created for my personal blog. It revolves around the theme of love, and stemmed from the initial idea of having different quotes appear on a section of the layout each time the page was reloaded. |
One Day Son, This Will All Be YoursI was inspired to create this layout after looking at some typography. I was also heavily inspired by the music and lyrics of post-rock band Fightstar and their album One Day Son, This Will All Be Yours. |
Made of Star StuffThis WordPress theme was created for a client with a blog named "Made of Star Stuff". The client provided a number of backgrounds and I used one of them for the header and footer. Following the client's requirements, the theme was made fluid to fit any common browser window size. |
R & RThis layout used one of my first typography pieces. I opted for something bold; using grey to make the colours "pop". I used a line from the song R & R by The Classic Crime; it was a rather spontaneous choice. |
Forever's Going To Start TonightPurple is one of my favourite colours and I wanted to use it for a writing portfolio design. I used a very decorative font in the design, reducing the need for any images. I believe it complemented the focus of the website itself. I kept the design as simple and fuss-free as possible. It utilised a light textured background to add interest. |
There is nowhere left to goAfter taking photographs of one of my favourite musicians, Ben Jorgensen, I felt like designing something simple for my blog. This WordPress theme featured a dynamic sidebar that changed according to different sections of the website. I chose grey for most of the layout to allow the header image to stand out. |
